___ Objectives...                                                                                                                                ___
The objectives of the USS Guadalcanal TG 22.3 Association are fraternal, historical, and educational; that is to preserve and strengthen the friendships among its members, both shipmates and former foes whom the Lord God saw fit to bring together without further animosity; to perpetuate the history of the events which brought the original members together by supporting the preservation of the artifacts of the U 505 where they are displayed as a memorial to all those seafarers who lost their lives in defense of their homelands; and to support and encourage the education of future generations in history and patriotism as exemplified by this episode in WW II.

  Membership...

Membership is open to any person of good character who is interested in supporting the objectives of this association and recommended by any shipmate who served on board any of the six (6) ships of Task group 22.3, or by any surviving relative of any shipmate who has served on board any of the six (6) ships while they were commissioned by the United States Navy.
There shall be two categories of membership:

        - Battle Star Members are those who were actually present on board any of the six (6) ships engaged in the battle on 4 June 1944.

        - Associate Members who are not otherwise eligible to be Battle Star Members. All members who have their membership dues paid up to date shall have the right to vote and to hold any elected office.
