Jessie &
Bernie Latterell (USS Pope), and daughters Chris, Marcy, and Betty were
responsible for putting on the highly successful Reunion 03 last June
in Minneapolis attended by approximately 60 Task Group Members, wives,
family, and friends. Our hearty "Thanks" to each of you for
making our reunion the pleasurable event it was and a lot of just plain
fun. From Registration Day on Wednesday through the Dinner/Dance finale
Saturday night we were kept busy renewing old acquaintances, re-living
those old stories ( read - once upon a time when we were young ), and
visiting the Minneapolis sights. The Dinner/Theater and Riverboat Dinner
Cruise were outstanding. (Note: to Jessie & Bernie - be sure these
young ladies attend Chicago 04 ! - it just wouldn't be the same without
them.)

At
the June reunion, Al Zielen Association Secretary-Treasurer presents
Evie Dutton with a plaque memorializing Jack's dedicated service
to the Association while President Tom Thomas looks on. Jack Dutton
was a founding member of the Task Group 22.3 Association and served
until his passing as the Secretary Treasurer and publisher of our
newsletter Scuttlebutt. He left a legacy of service to others as
an example for us who follow in his footsteps. |

The plaque reads,
"In Memory and Recognition of Jack Dutton for His Dedication and
Service to USS Guadalcanal Task Group 22.3 Association as a Founding Member
and Long Service as Secretary Treasurer" |
